You don’t develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.

Group

In group therapy, patients can benefit from seeing the challenges of other group members.  Individuals are able to draw on the concepts and strengths of the group in order to reach their goals. However, the strength of a group isn’t confined to one form of therapy; virtually anyone can benefit from seeing their peers face the same challenges and problem.

While outpatient therapy at 60 minute sessions is beneficial, sometimes more movement is needed.  Our intensives eliminate the distractions of the outside world and allow more time for deep inward reflection in a protected environment to achieve significant healing/change.  It is also an option before higher levels of care, like residential treatment are needed.  Other benefits are cost effectiveness, better for the busy schedules and is provides therapy options for out of town clients.  A typical day intensive will be 6-8 hours per day and may be combined with adventure therapy treks or retreats.

Adventure

Do you enjoy a peaceful walk with a friend, release stress through physical activity, feel calmer near water or find a connection with nature?  If so, you are not alone. Willow Tree Counseling offers opportunity for their clients to include adventure therapy as part of their treatment plan.  Adventure therapy stimulates all the senses and can aid in trauma processing.  Adventure therapy may be worked into 60-90 minute sessions, however, one, two or three day intensives are the best way to engulf yourself fully in adventure therapy.  Examples are hiking, kayaking, floating and processing by a campfire at days end in the beautiful Ozarks of Arkansas. Adventure therapy can be lighthearted, group-relationship building or deep reflection and healing.  The more intense therapy desired, the more processing moments. Call or email to schedule today.
